Oscar's Photo Shoot
Senin, 18 Juli 2011
This is Oscar. Yesterday was his photo shoot. Or I should say yesterday was supposed to be Oscar's photo shoot.
He hates having his picture taken! I told him that I wanted to enter him in the cutest cat in New England contest thinking that might sway him.
He listened and thought about it carefully. I thought I had him convinced to cooperate...
I raised my camera to get ready and then this is what he did.
A not so subtle way of telling me to get lost! Ok Oscar, you win round one but just remember I always get my shot!

Something's amiss at the condo
Kamis, 15 Juli 2010
Something's not quite right at the condo. I can't pinpoint it but I'm getting a vibe.
He won't let on about it. Can't read his little poker face.
Speaking of Poker Face, he does resemble Lady Gaga, don't you think?
She's not talking, she won't even make eye contact. She looks like the cat that swallowed the canary.
I think these two have a secret. This requires further investigation. I will keep you posted.
In the meantime, enjoy a tune from Lady Gaga. If it doesn't load automatically, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Poker Face.
Kitty Smackdown
Selasa, 12 Mei 2009
After my last maudlin, self pitying post, I thought it was time for a little levity. Leave it to the "kits", Molly and Oscar for some comic relief.
She might look sweet, but Molly can be quite the little bomb throwing instigator when she wants to be.

Oscar may look like a jovial sort of guy, but, he can mix it up with the best of them.
Here they are jockeying for position in the dining room window. This is usually Molly's perch so Oscar crossed the line by jumping in the window and flaunting it in front of Molly.
Routine Keeps Us Sane
Senin, 04 Mei 2009
My sister once said, "Routine keeps us sane." I think the two of us might have been complaining about the lack of excitement in our lives.
One of my favorite routines is seeing my sweet Molly sitting in the dining room window waiting for my return home at night. She perches herself on the tea chest and befriends
the peacock lamp while she waits to see my car pull in the driveway.
By the time I reach the back door, she is there to greet me. I can hear her purring as little brother Oscar stands in the background.
I am home and happy to be with my furbabies! What a nice routine.
Molly and Oscar- A Tale of Two Kitties
Selasa, 27 Januari 2009
Oscar is finally in his forever home. Actually he's been living with Molly and me since December 30th. I guess you can call him my New Year's baby. I am enjoying the new addition to our family. Molly? Not so much. For those of you who want to get up to speed. Go to my very first post entitled "Starting from Scratch". All may look peaceful here but don't let them fool you!
Oscar chases Molly all over the condo. She is certainly getting her exercise. She's 7 years old and he's just 1 year old. Molly is plum exhausted from his antics.
This is Oscar's usual state. Hiding and about to pounce! He still has his wild side. Poor thing has lived in 4 places in his young life. First he was outside in the bitter cold last winter, crying for food scraps in the parking lot of my apartment building. I met him on Valentine's Day night! Then in June when I rescued him I took him straight to the vets. He stayed there
for 2 weeks while I searched for a foster mom for him.
My sister sent out an email blast to all her friends and we found Diane and Michael who had recently lost their 20 year old cat. Diane said she would foster Oscar for 3 months. So off to
Diane's he went. He loved it there. Sleeping on a sheepskin rug, catching an occasional mouse and getting lots of lovin'. He was in kitty heaven. I visited him weekly to keep in touch. Diane and Michael could not have been a better match for Oscar's temperament.
Finally I bought a condo and moved in with Molly. I got her settled and then I was able to finally take Oscar home. It's been an adjustment for all of us. Diane and Michael come and visit and play with Oscar. Molly has learned to ignore him at times and I just love the little, um, not so little guy.
