Susan Branch's birthday and a blog giveaway

Today is Susan Branch's birthday. If you read my blog often you will know I am a big fan of Susan's. Susan and I have much in common. We both love animals and we have lookalike cats. Her Jack really looks like my Oscar. We are both foodies, love England and tea, and then of course there's Martha's Vineyard. She lives there and I would love to have even a Summer home there.

 

I met Susan twice at two book signings. Last Summer, I met her in Sandwich, Massachusetts for the signing of her book, "A Fine Romance".  Here's the original book with Susan's handwriting. Susan's husband let me get a peek at it.

So since it's Susan's birthday, I thought I would celebrate by giving away a copy of this book. I bought an extra copy at the book signing and I told her I was going to give it away on my blog.

A blog giveaway for the holidays

It's been a while since I had a blog giveaway so I thought this week would be the perfect time to announce one.  So here's what you get: the Victoria Magazine Holiday Bliss issue and

a set of two battery operated LED Bethelehem Lights.  I bought a Victoria magazine Holiday Bliss
for me and one for the lucky winner.

The lights look like this.  You can place them anywhere, like on a bookcase, on a tree, on a banister or a wreath.  There are endless possibilities.

I must tell you that you need to get your own   batteries.  I do not think the US Mail likes anything potentially hazardous mailed through their system.

Giveaway Winner

Thank you to the ladies who entered my 200th post giveaway. I enjoyed reading your comments, suggestions and compliments. I am inspired by all of your blogs so it means a lot to me when you tell me you enjoy reading Cafe Chatelaine.

So about the mystery giveaway, it has a New England flavor, of course! First, a jar of body butter in the scent of sea lavender. It was purchased from Martha's Vineyard.



Next, the winner will receive a package of vintage labels, all from New England. I bought these a few months ago at a church antique fair.



There are 8 labels in total.



Next, a Claire Murray La Vie Claire magazine. I love this magazine. When Victoria Magazine stopped publishing a while back I was so disappointed. I missed the wonderful photography. Well, La Vie Claire magazine is a close second. It is so visually beautiful. You need to find a copy and see for yourself.




The last item in the giveaway is Yankee Magazine. I always look for this magazine on the newsstand. It has interesting stories about New England and a great calendar of events.



The names were all tossed in a hat. Last time I used the random number generator my computer got a virus so I didn't want to chance it.

Blog Love Giveaway

I was going to post about Crazy Love today but I decided to post about a blog giveaway instead. There's going to be a quick timeframe on this since I want the recipient to get it in time for Valentine's Day. Both items are handmade in Massachusetts.

First of all, the winner will receive this cute paper heart. My friend Beth had a trunk show today and she was selling her handcrafted paper hearts along with her vintage paper jewelry. I picked one up for myself and one for you (if you win).




The second item in the giveaway is a bag of Harbor Sweets candy. An ex-boyfriend turned me on to Harbor Sweets. These handmade chocolates do have nuts in them. Fair warning.

A Blog Giveaway
